Twas the Night Before Closing

And all through the House

Not a creature was stirring

Not even a Mouse

The House had been cleaned

And packed up with care

In hopes its new Owners

Soon would be there

Its sellers were nestled all snug in their beds

While visions of their new home

Danced in their heads

Although they'd outgrown

This house with one bathroom

They'd maintained it with Love

And made sure to vacuum

They changed the air filters

Every month without fail

And had the old carpets

Replaced for the Sale

The smoke alarms worked

And the Kitchen was clean

The garage was cleaned out

And the window panes gleam

They garden they'd planted would stay with the House

For the new inhabitants' outdoor life to espouse

And the birds would continue to splash in the birdbath

Grateful the owners had thought to install that

And although a new chapter for the House would be starting

It left within its walls a happy kind of haunting

It remembered when Johnny here took his first steps

And Marybeth lost her braces dental wax

The smoke alarm went off a few times, it's true

And when the garage door left open, in the leaves blew

But mostly it sheltered this family of five

Including two dogs, and a fish still alive

It kept them warm in the winter

And cool in the heat

It was close enough to school

They could get their with feet

It held celebrations

And comfort in hard times

It stored outgrown clothes

And, in the couch, a few dimes

With luck, it would be standing

For more years to come

So this family could drive by

And see their beloved old Home

And the brand new family

That would soon move in

Would receive the keys

And their new life would begin

If you are either buying or selling this year, or someone you know is, I would love to help you with your move!

With Love,

Landes Properties
